Accommodation overview
Mellenbye Station is a working cattle station. If you enjoy watching the stars at night, sitting by the campfire and getting away from the stresses of modern life, then this is the place for you. The station is a great base for exploring the districts of Morawa and Yalgoo as well as experiencing the ambiance of the station.
During wildflower season Mellenbye Station offers visitors the chance to see the famous wreath flower - Lechenaultia macranta. Many other flowers, including everlastings and orchids, can be seen on walks or drives around the property.
Open from July to September each year.
Mellenbye Station offers visitors the opportunity to camp on our flat camping sites with campfire pits available for use. The historic shearing shed is open for inspection and enables guests to enjoy movie and karaoke nights as well as indoor games.
The sites are un-powered, but power can be used in the campers kitchen.
Built of local stone, the front portions of the shearing shed and stables are believed to have been the first permanent buildings on the station.
Shearers quarter accommodation have access to showers, toilets, campers kitchen, shearing shed etc. Power is on in the quarters from 6pm until 10 pm only. This is by a generator.
There is a fire-pit outside the quarters for use.

Safety Checklist
While the Outback Pathways have opened the heart of the Gascoyne and Murchison to visitors, many areas on the self-drive trails remain remote and warrant extra travel precautions.
